Are you using Notebook LM yet? If not, I think you should be using it; it is frankly quite mind-blowing. To illustrate the power of Notebook LM I took the YouTube link for my presentation “How should you plan for AI and its impact on you?” from the April NewMR AI Webinar and uploaded it to Notebook LM.
Access the Notebook and Experience it
I have shared the Notebook I made from my presentation publicly, you can click on this link and experience the Notebook LM experience. You will need a Google account, but that can just be a free Gmail.
Key elements:
- From Sources, you can play the original video from which the Notebook was built.
- In the chat box at the lower middle of the screen, you can ask questions about what in the video. For example, what are the three main points?
- On the right, you can listen to a podcast featuring two commentators discussing the video’s content.
- On the bottom right, you can access a Mind Map of the presentation, a briefing note, and even a study guide.
How are people using Notebook LM?
I think the most typical way is to upload articles, create the audio summary and then listen to the summary. If you upload a large paper or article, you can use the podcast to tell you in 10 minutes whether you should read the article and what to look out for in the article.
In the future, I envision a more secure version of this (and similar products) as a key indicator of what the deliverables from research projects will look like.
